Fashion Week in Sauder Village After 10 years of intensely making rugs, wall hangings, pillows, and bags I decided to do something different. I love wearing ponchos. But why not hook the poncho? I am not an experienced seamstress and that is why I settled on the simple shape of the poncho which can be easily sewn. And my imagination went wild. Some ponchos made from wool were inspired by the design of the fabric, some – by my feelings. On grey geometric design fabric, I hooked squares of different shades of grey intertwined in places with multicolored squares. Making some ponchos brought to mind Tchaikovsky’s great work – Swan Lake. I hooked the swan in the middle. The blue fabric asks for blooming flowers and hummingbirds. These ponchos were displayed at the Sauder Village Rug Hooking Week this year.
